I have Shot my first antlered buck! it was yesterday on opening day! i seen him at 9 in the morning, he was walking by my treestand and not stopping so i took a shot. he ran with his right front leg up and stopped, so i took another shot. then he ran behind some trees. he stood there for awhile and im thinkin i just skrewed up and injured him. then he steps back out and i take another shot. he runs yet again behind some more trees. at this time hes about 100 yards away in some woods. he stand i the open and im benden by leg over my head trying to get a shot because hes on the left side of me (i shoot left handed) i then take two more shots because he wont go down, i believe thes ones hit a branch. the he walks off and leaves. i know the first two shots hit because there was blood and hair. i got my buddy to help me out. the blood trail had stoped. so we spent 3 hours lookin for him. i finally ran into him, he was laynig there 20 yards in front of me. i could not tell if he was breathing, or take another shot because my friend was in front of me. i waved at my friend, the buck stood up, ran out in some tall grass and layed down again.so my buddy and i decided to circle him and try and get him to stand up, that wasnt workin so we kept circleing. it was impossible to see him in the grass but there he was! a couple steps in front of me. i shot him right in the neck, killin him on the spot, i was so relived and thankfull that we didnt have a wounded deer no more. hes a good old 4 pointer and i couldnt be any happier! (sorry about writing this book) :)
