Q:
I just found a big old Turkey nest in the woods were I live and hunt. It has about 11-13 eggs in it and a bunch of feathers. I sure hope that nest does well because last year I found a nest that had gotten robbed by racoons.

If you flush the hen off her nest there's a good chance she will not return. I would stay away if you want that hen to succeed. In most or maybe all states it is illegal to touch those eggs or harm a nest.

Pretty cool that you found a nest (although I agree with the notion of staying away now), but I have spent countless hours in the woods and have never run across one.

Del (the turkey GOD) is right, Don't run her off or disturb the next.
Congrats on the "find" though.

Thankfully I found the nest when she was away looking for food (I hope anyway.) Del, do you think she would have already abandoned her nest? We never knew it was there and hadn't walked were it was in 2 or 3 years.
