Q:
i know WA Mtnhunter challenged every one to send $1.00 to Del in KS for Wesly and his family, i would like to challenge everyone to send $5.00 most everyone can afford to give away $5, we will spend it on our selves or our kids without thinking about it, but when it comes to giving it away we hesitate and say no, if everyone on the site sends $5 this family can have a truely great Christmas.

Wesley and John's mother has pneumonia and thier father has been laid off from work. In the earlier post I suggested that we F&S bloggers start up an effort to help the family. "Shoe Box" type Christmas Gifts or dontaions of other items and money would all be appropriate. Del in Kansas has agreed to receive these contributions and will get them to the family. Del's address is:

Del Akins
2311 W. Sage Circle
Olathe KS 66061
Here you go!!!

You Go, Kolbster!

Just think. If everyone on here donated the price of a cup of coffee at 7-11 or the price of a Coke at McDonalds (and drank water just once), Wesley's family could have a nice Christmas!

You could even have a nicer one knowing you helped a good family that is down on their luck right now. Remember, we all have blessings to be thankful for, so let's share!

Sounds like a plan to me. Just imagine, hunters, who according to polite society are pretty much a lower life form, pulling together to help some one in need, instead of pillaging wildlife like modern day vikings or whatever society thinks. You folks are top drawer all the way, which comes as NO surprise. This is an ideal opportunity to wish all of you a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas, and new year. May you be as blessed as Wes' family will be.

I'll go one farther, I have sent an email out to my friends and colleagues asking that they donate $5 (the price of a cheap meal at McDonald's) to the cause. I urge everyone to do this and we should be able to raise a pile of money. If you don't want to send cash send a WalMart Gift Card. The family shops as Wally world in Ottawa KS.
