I voted democrat because the American media is 95% liberal and can never provide me factual information, they just want to puke up their liberal crap all over me, all the time. I never even get the opportunity to hear both sides unless I buy cable and look for the limited few conservative stations out there. How dare one of the major media companies try to appeal to both sides? No, let's just let Dave Letterman run his mouth like a goon and allow NBC to slight the republican party in any way possible. I can hardly turn on the TV anymore because I don't want to hear that junk. It's a shame.

Mr. Petzal once wrote an article outlining the dilemma about which party one chooses to vote for and it was pretty insightful. Basically, he said that neither was much account. I voted Democrat because they don't frighten me the way the Republicans do. If you think Republicans give a hoot about anything besides money and power then you are a dreamer of the first magnitude. All I have to see is Cheney's and George W's military record (Viet Nam era no-show's).
Other than real battle, the R's are ruthless.

I vote Democrat because I'm working class. I'm a member of a Union, which invented the 'middle-class', and John McCain HATES unions. I look at voting records for candidates, and vote for who supports issues that puts food on my children's plates. I'm not fooled by Republican's "religous/conservative" bs. They are for the rich and powerful, period. I realize that the Republicans could have easily banned abortion in the first 6 years of W's presidency, since they had Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court, but they will never do it because it's a great devisive issue to draw the sheep to them. I hunt and fish religously. I still have ALL my guns, and most importantly, I still have a JOB. I never had a single assault weapon confiscated from me in Clinton's presidency either. I think both parties are full of liars and crooks. Congratulations to all of you for being wealthy, but most American's are not, and if you look at the Republican's voting records, you'll see who their really looking out for. Now go ahead and throw your -'s on my comment.

When my son started to talk to me about political parties we discussed what he felt was important to him and we came up with the following thoughts "who will allow me to lead my life as I want, allow me to keep the money I earn, not burden me with endless regulations, respect life, keep taxes as low as possible, protect my family from foreign threat and allow this country to prosper and keep faith with the Constitution of the United States of America. I never tried to lead him by the nose or offer any suggestions. After he had told me what he felt was important I knew where he would wind up. He is a conservative. Bear in mind that conservative doesn't mean republican necessarily, but obviously closer in philosophy than the democrat party. As for the rich thing, I'm a carpenter and have no excess money, but thanks to my conservative allies in this country I've been able to pretty much do as I please. libertyfirst- What does your voting record have to do w/my life? I'm interested to know. Throw me some facts, I'd like to know which elected official that you voted for did something to positively influence my life, and which one you psychically know that I voted for hurt my life.
"A working class man voting Republican is like a chicken voting for Col. Sanders"
I deal in facts, not campaign speeches, or the latest "doom & gloom" spewed forth by talk radio & Fox news.
fishhead- We went to Iraq on the premise that they were hoarding weapons of mass destruction. Not a single 9-11 hijacker was from Iraq, and after 8 years not a single connection has been made between Sadaam Hussein and Al Quida, nor has a single weapon of mass destruction been found. Thousands of American soldiers and American workers have been killed in Iraq since the invasion. We've changed the objective to "liberating" the Iraqi people, and "ridding the world of a tyrannical dictator", and both are very nice, but they are NOT the reasons given to the American public for going to war.
So, lets deal with cold hard facts, here's an unpopular question, how many American's have DIED because of Obama's lies???

so Jbird hes done good? what have the bailouts done? all the economy needed was time. a good bailout would be giving those billions of dollars we apparently had sitting around back to tax payers. what would you do with the money? spend it right? things that would boost the economy. why give it to the ceo's who apparntly cant run a company why let them ruin it all over again with our money?

CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE but after he was elected he explained how the CHANGE would take much longer than he stated in his campain he said it would take beyond the 8 years he might have in office. why didnt he say that while running? his campain wasnt based on the truth why should we expect his presendency be any different-yeah i cant spell sorry

Don't forget Affirmative action. I voted Democrate because he's black. He's the underdog. Sounds like a good reason to vote for someone to me?

I voted Democrate so I could get my new scooter, and more drugs form the doctor. So I could get my rent paid for, And have more food stamps and get all my family on disabilty so we can have more time to pick up cans and mow lawns for our nabours. I voted Democrate cause I'm poor and the rich need to pay more taxes cause I can't get my lazy tail outta bed in the morings an go to work.

Now go ahead and throw your -'s on my comment.

libertyfirst- What does your voting record have to do w/my life?

I vote we stick to talking about hunting and fishing on this site and that people stop cluttering it up with politics. Like John Merwin said "Leave it at the dock".
