I try to keep my "bones to pick" at a minimum these days. I have nothing to prove since I know that I can out-cuss, out-shoot, and out-spit most of the whippersnappers on here! LOL! (At least in my mind, anyway) Remember, don't mess with an old man, he'll just shoot you.
When we were out patroling just before I retired the younger officers used to tell the cruds to look out for me because old men are dangerous they don't fight they will shoot you. I guess they knew something. Medicare kicked in this year.
I am not a 5 month old anymore, but I just might still have to wear diapers again. I am not a 6 month old anymore but I have about the same bald areas I had back then. I am not seven months old anymore but I only have about the same number of teeth I had back when I was. I am not a 1 year old any more, but I stumble and fall like one. When I get all charged up, it just means that the batterys in my Rascal have been plugged in all night. I am tired, retired amd almost expired, but I suddenly feel like a teenager again when I am out fishing, hunting, or trapping. It is not the actual age that makes a person, it it what a person makes of it. I agree with what George Bernard Shaw said, "Youth is wasted on the young" and "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself".
I've made 26 trips to Ak and the other parts of the Great White North in my 61 years. I guess that I've been hunting and fishing since 1959 or there abouts. I went duck hunting with my dad when I was 8 for the first time. We had been fishing for a few years before that. I grew up a block from the Oswego River in upstate NY. I saw my first bald eagle in Williams Lake in BC in 1970. Today bald eagles nest 5 miles from my home town, not 2500 miles away as it was 50+ years ago.My body is going bad on me but the wilderness animals and the clean water that I have always loved are more accessable than ever.

what is your real age, if you don't mind answering honestly.
Old enough to know better and too old to quit. 62
I'll be 60 this year, so I've been hunting, fishing and pursuing outdoor activities in earnest for over half a century.

By the calendar I'll be 53 this summer but lately it feels like a lot more.
Like Treestand and Ishawooa I'm older than dirt LOL.
Old enough I had to look at the posts above to see if I answered the question.
Old enough to forget where I put my reading glasses.
