Sort of a cross between manatee and bald eagle. (That's my one politically incorrect joke for the day--I promise not to do it again until tomorrow). LOL

Like a cross between rattlesnake and fried grasshoppers. Really good if you don't overcook it.

If you like dark meat, try a leg. It's better without the skin.

I personally believe that Elephant meat tastes like a mixture of Stag-Moose, Shrub-ox, and Western Camel.

You can dice the elephant and sautee it with coriander and cumin before adding 212 gallons of kidney beans, 36 pounds of chopped chili peppers, 98 gallons of diced tomatoes and water to cover, salt and pepper to taste and you have Dark Continent Chili. Simmmer until tender. I have heard of adding a rabbit to the recipe, but most people don't like hare in their chili.

Elephants

In Western societies, elephants have often been associated with circuses and used for entertaining purposes. However, in Central and West Africa, elephants are hunted for their meat.[citation needed] Some people in Thailand also believe that eating elephant meat improves their sex lives and elephants are sometimes hunted specifically for this.[32][33]

Judaism prohibits consumption of elephant meat as an unfit for consumption land animal, a taboo similar to the prohibition on camel meat.

Been away for a few days, so am a little late. I have eaten elephant many times in many ways, and it tastes, well, like elephant. The cheeks are the best parts to my notion. The locals are protein starved in most countries and will ear it fresh or spoiled. Seeing twenty people butcher an elephant takes away most Westerners appetites.. It ranks right up there with hippo and hyena on my taste scale.
