I used to use muzzy but switched to rage 3 blade this year. I like that they have a wider wound channel and really do some damage. I've got two deer with them already this year and both the deer ran less than fifty yards. The only thing I dont like about them is durability. The tips bend too easily as do the blades. Still the best I have been able to find though. What I really want is an explandable broadhead like the rage, with the muzzy bone crushing tip...now that would be a force to reckon with
I switched to the rage 2 blade this year its been very productive but it dont matter what we say try what you want you might end up liking something different if you want to shoot an exspandable rage is the way to go or the spit fire is pretty good and for fixed broad heads the g5 is a good one i also like the thunder head i dont know much about the blood runner i almost tried them this year well good luck and remember no matter what you pick it will do the job.
I used to shoot muzzy, but now all I shoot is Rage 2 blades. They are the best in the market in my opinion. You will have no problem finding a blood trail. They work great.
Rage broad heads are good an all, but they are not the most reliable. Sometimes the only one blade opens, or the blades do not fully open. You cannot go wrong with 3 blade muzzy fixed broad heads.
If you live in NY, the Rage 2 blade is out of the question. They're illegal to use on deer because they remain in a "barbed" position.
Personally, I use the Muzzy 3 blade 100 grains. The furrels and tips are nearly industructable, the blades never need to be sharpened because you can just buy new ones, they have withstood the test of time, and you get twice the number of broadheads (6) for $35 than the other brands you mentioned. All in all, fantastic deal for a quality product!
Careful with the G5 CS. Mine rusted in just two days. I used Rage last year. I didn't care for them opening when bumped by brush or the side of the ground blind. I pulled back twice last year only to see a blade hanging.
GO WITH THE MONTEC's all the way they are very strong and well made the fixed blade design wont open early and the blades wont break off.You can even target shoot them then sharpen and put right in your quiver and they sharpen easy with a diamond stone
