Q:
Many years ago I cut out a artical about sighting in at 25 yards maybe 15 to 20 years ago well I have lost it I guess it was very helpfull over the many years. It gave a small sampeling of common calibers and wher they hit when zeroed at 25 yards out to 250 yards I think like my 30:06 with 165 grain bullet zeroed at 25 yards would be so high at 50 then so high at 100 yards and so on out to 250.Can you help me find this artical once more and I will print out many copies. Thanks in advance

After a short panic session I did find it.I do not know the year printed but the author is Vin.T.Sparano,with Illustrations by Chris Armstrong. It was Titled "Private Lessons" Sighting in at 25 yards.

I will,
It goes like this a 300 win mag with a 150 grn bullet zeroed at 25 will be plus 3/4 at 50 yds, plus 2 1/4 at 100,plus 1 3/4 at 200 yds and zero at 250 yds.the plan according to the author, is using this table in theroy if you aim dead on to your target you will be in the vital zone from 25 yards out to 250 yards without having to figure or worse yet guess how much hold over you need to hit your target.with my 30-30 and my two 30-06's the measurements are to the fraction correct I have lined in many rifle's over the years and everyone is always happy with the result, good luck
