me and a couple buddies are going elk hunting in a cuple years but have started planning it out.we would like to hunt some mule deer too.we want to take one with our bow and one with a gun.now we havent ever been hunting for elk or mule deer just white tails...so what kinds of gear do you recomend,like supplies we will need..for a 2-5 week period...

In most places out west I don't think the season lasts for 5 weeks unless you'll be "mixing" seasons(bow/gun).
In Colo. you'll be able to buy OTC(over the counter) tags for elk, but you'll have to "draw" deer tags.
I'm not sure about the other states.
I was a guide there(elk/deer)(bow/gun). They have the largest elk herd in North America, but the deer numbers have been down lately. You'll need a place to sleep, stuff of cook with,etc. or you could get a "semi-guided" package that will help you out with some of this.
