I give them a call with a 90g 25-06 bullet. They respond extremely well. I don't like guys blazing at that range hoping for a hit but I feel comfortable shooting a fifty cent piece at that range and practice a lot so I know exactly where my bullet will hit. If it is too windy, I don't call figuring that if I see them, they have seen me for about a half hour. I won't be able to call them but I can maybe head them off.
In truth, I've never taken a shot at a coyote beyond 200-250 yards, and I've never taken any shot at 600 yards. A distance like that requires practice, training. Other than some BLM land an inconveniently long drive from my home, I don't have access to that much distance in coyote country without crossing a few property lines. I think an electronic call and/or a motion decoy would help lure them in much closer than 600 yards, and I wish you the best.
