In heaven, there is no beer; that's why we drink it here. Just wait until the guns & knives are put away and don't get carried away or you won't make it to your tree stand til noon.
Great for after the hunt fun..not a good idea for during the hunt...even if you think you function well after a couple, just not worth the liability and the risk to others around you...
Christian, I know you are a young fella so you wouldn't understand just how good a beer tastes when you have completed a long, strenuous, and successful hunt. There is nothing wrong with having a beer or two after the hunt is over, but like others have said or at least insinuated, a man must know his limitations in order to ensure his safety as well as the others around him.
If I am not mistaken in WV you can not leave the camp in the morning unless you have finished at least four beers. I will check the rules and get back to ya on that one.
At our camp, beer isn't the issue, all the old guys go off of their diets and go into congestive heart failure and diabetic seizures. We had to buy a defibulator.
A point for WA Mtnhunter, for going against the grain (pun intended). But in our camp, beer is definitely on the to do list. I agree with all who advise waiting until the hunt is over and the bullets are put away.
Sir streak said it best and may I add, no top is popped until everyone is back at camp, everyone's equipment is put away, everyone's gun is cleaned and put away, everyone choirs are done cutting wood etc and ready for bed. Then and only then do I pop the top and only drink about 1/2 to 2/3rds. Elevation will take its toll and a slight buzz is more than enough for me. The question is, what if all hell broke out? Not just in your camp but some other camp and needed emergency help, then what are you going to do Sir two sheets in the wind! Been there and done that several times!
Come to think of it. One of my best guided hunts the guide would have a cold one waiting at the lodge every evening when we returned. Boy it hit the spot.
WI is the same way, great time with your friends and family. It pretty much the only time we can all be together at one time. Tell tall tales, old hunting stories and the one that got away. CHEERS TO ALL!!!
I had my fill years ago of beer swilling, all night poker playing deer hunts. If that were my agenda, I'd go to Reno where there is better scenery. I don't care what you do elsewhere, just not our camp. I see enough of the "northern" drunks in town during elk season. Only have to check the license plates at the taverns after 9:00 PM to validate some of the above posts....
I enjoy a cold one as much as the next guy at deer camp, but common sense needs to be at the front of this. Get back to camp, unload & clean your guns, and after everything is buttoned done, crack a top or two. The key here is moderation; any lug nut out there who drinks enough to be hung over and groggy in the morning with a loaded gun, in the woods, is liable to do something dumb accidentally and get somebody hurt.

It's o.k. if it's for AFTER the day is done. NEVER during the day, unless you/they are DONE FOR THE DAY !
There is beer then there is BEEEEER. I say a couple after a long day is good. I've seen guys get carried away.
In WI, it is a part of deer camp!! Its a chance to drink beer and get away from the wives!!!!!
Like Big O said when the day is done.

I didn't think that deer camp existed without beer. Is that just a U.P. thing?
