Trapping squirrels I use peanuts, really works good. Coons I throw a can of tuna fish in there and for rabbits well I'm not sure cause I've never tried trapping rabbits. Another post suggests using sardines for bait but I don't know if I could get past the smell haha.
Squirrels- I don't know,listen to MPN
Rabbits-have never trapped them, I have noticed my bunny likes to go under things so you could try a snare or something. They like carrots, dandelions and other fresh greens.
rabbits=greens ,cover the trap with something if your using a boxtrap located in there feeding area.squirrels like peanut butter, coons like sardines.and anything shiny, sometimes just hanging tin foil will get them.later
for rabbits and squirrels I've seen stuff like lettuce and carrots work like magic. for the coon though I might suggest something like marshmallows or a little easter candy.
For coons something sweet. Take a dixie cup put a spoon full of peanut butter in it and some syrup. Then mix it up and it's like magic in a cup. It puts lots of scent into the air too.
use corn and peanut butter for coon and squirrels and you can catch either with both but rabbits i dont know..but for just coons anything fishy or sweet..soured corn works great
Rabbits use sweet potato and cover the trap with some branches to make it look like a brush pile.
Squirrels and coons use roasted peanuts and peanut butter. If you have a wary coon prop the door open and leave a trail of peanuts into the trap a few nights. He will realize the door does not fall and start entering the trap. Then just set the door to fall and you will get him every time. If you use meat or fish as bait there is a chance you will catch a skunk. A skunk in a trap is nothing you want to play with. With peanuts I have caught many coons and 'possums but not a single skunk. I know a guy that caught a skunk but that is another story.
Don't know much about rabbits or squirrels, but as for coon, use peanut butter and miniature marshmallows. If you use sardines or something like that, you'll attract every house cat, skunk, and possum in the zip code.
peanut butter for squirrells, racoons love anchovies
Raccoons like salami and any other greesey meat.
well w/ racoons my freind uses tuna mixed w/ some shiny glitter.the glitter is there to make em curious.and squirrels he uses peanut butter ,harder to get off and makes them struggle more making it more of a chance of your trap springing.and rabbits ..well he’s never actually used bait for rabbits..
