We usually have some type of game animal that one of us had harvested. Deer, Turkey, Elk. Next favorite, is every year neighbor slaughters his own beef and treats my whole camp to fresh steaks at his house. It is what I asked for payment to let him take all my hay from my field, to feed his animals.
Well, it was dogs, baked beans, and country fries this weekend for fish camp. Best hunting camp meal I ever had was a fresh venison tenderloin (from a bow shot deer the night before) and fresh grouse and woodcock wrapped in bacon. But I don't even remember what was on the side.
I do agree that it seems like everything at my hunting camp is usually cooked with bacon grease...which is real good for the heart hah...thanks for sharing guys +1 for all

Grouse with bacon grease! If you haven't done this one give it a try, even if you have to carry the grouse in!
well the first night we usually try to take somebody's tenderloins. The night before opening though we get a bucket of fried chicken from town.
