Elk will usually shed their antlers in March or April. If you have beavers around the area you are searching for the sheds, then start looking in mid march. The beavers will chew on the antlers for their calcium.
it might not be a bad idea to start looking in late febuary.
The elk are shedding right now most locations! Searching in deep snow can be difficult but this is a great time to figure what area the Bulls are wintering in to narrow the search area when you start searching in a few weeks, Good luck!
Most elk shed their antlers during March and April when their testosterone level hits yearly lows.
