There's a great article in the February '09 issue of F&S. It's on page 45. I would assume that it applies to all areas, but weather and climate may have some bearing on when the animals shed. The article said feb-march are the best times. the article is a great resource, so I recommend reading it.

Go from february to march all the way up through late april or may
Get out there and look! When setting up tree stands or hunting other game animals in the area, keep a look out for sheds.
You can go anytime from Feb. since its nice down there unlike here in IOWA!!
