which slugs should i shoot out of my mossberg 12ga? i have it narrowed down to the hornady sst sabots, federal w/barnes sabots, winchester partion golds, or the remmington accu tips. which ones shoot best from a mossberg 500 12ga rifled barrel??

I can't tell you exactly which ones would work best since all guns are different, but if I had to choose I would give the Remington Accu-Tips a very close look.

i like the above answer best but i've also heard good things about hornady i'd try both , some guns r finicky..

If you can afford it, I would try all of them! You never know which will give the best accuracy until you experiment with each of them.

Best way to do that is buy some of each slug and shoot them from a solid rest to see which is the most accurate in your gun. Use a large target with about an 8 inch bullseye at 50 or 100 yds. Shoot groups of 3 and allow time for the barrel to cool between shots. Then compare your groups to choose the best ammo for your gun.

yeah, i have thought about all of that before..lol. and i know most guns are different. i just didnt know if you guys had better luck with different slugs for a mossberg 12ga. idk, next season will be the first year that i use a shotgun for deer. i more of a muzzleloader kind of guy. traditional style!
