there dont seem to be any more or less around my house in the adirondacks .the breeding season for them around here is Jan- Feb . so you might start seeing less of them this month .
Many more coyotes are visible in the daytime during February because of breeding season and the fact that they are having to hunt hard for food with all the snow cover. In another month or two they will be back to being nocturnal.
YESS!!! i live and hunt here in ny and we get alot of deer at one of our hunting spots every year and this year we spotted 2 cyotes for the first time a couple months before the deer season opened and then some during the season and then we started seeing every time we were there. We actually had one attack our turkey decoy when we were hunting. but anyways this year we saw a ton of cyotes and no barely any deer or turkeys.

I can't say specifically New York but the Northeast overall is having a boom in coyote populations.
