Gran Turino. he was gunned down by gangsters in the front yard. great movie.
That was not the one I had in mind. I have not seen that one but it is no doubt a good answer. There is another and he was not shot.

Pale Rider? I believe he was hung, been a long time.
Gran Turino. Shot by asian gangsters so to speak while trying to help a young man. he was shot outside the apartments. shot by several of the gangsters at once.
I don't remember the name of the movie, but he was a Confederate soldier taking refuge at a school for girls. Things got a bit complicated, jealousies got out of hand, and he was poisoned.
Cheat? There's not a hunter or fisherman on this site that would cheat or lie. How dare you Sirrr! LOL
In High Plains Drifter, he's killed by the outlaws that run the town. They use whips.
he was hung in hang 'em high... but since he's a tough sonuvagun that didn't kill him...

Yes! The poison mushrooms - that was a strange movie. Never liked that one and had forgotten the name. Still think about it when I pick morels, though.

Definitely not Pale Rider. Just watched it. One of my favorites. Never heard of The Beguiled. Interesting. Maybe him being killed in it is why it isn't as well known? Eastwood's character dying? No one wants to see that...

In the end of unforgiven it says he moved to San Francisco and prospered in dry goods after returning home from Big Whisky.
A quick Google on "The Beguiled" dates the movie in 1971, so it's not recent history.
The mushrooms were the least of Clints worries in that movie.1971? man im gettin old.Good question!!
