Broke down on the road in 10 deg weather. Patrol stopped and called for tow truck and then left. All i had was a light weight jacket and it took a long time for the truck to arrive. Almost froze to death. Never drive in the winter since then without complete survival items.
Also, overnight in the Adirondacks, no big deal, i was prepared. Worked my way out the next day within about a mile of where i parked.
MY friend and I had hiked along the Judith in the Breaks of Central MT a few years back. It got dark on us and we had no light to find the trail back down. We did not want to chance falling in the river so we took a higher path to try to get back to our vehicle. When we walked as far as we thought we needed to we started to find our way down a cliff. We slowly worked our way to the bottom. It took a couple hours. By the time we got the the bottom in the pitch dark we were both exhuasted. We saw some lights coming our direction so we yelled at them, it was our other friends that were hunting with us, they were coming back with lights to find us.

I asked this question earlier but Ontario Honker said he had four stories, but he could not write at that time.

Sorry, still in Toronto. I'll write a good one for you when I get home tomorrow.
No hurry.

Does surviving a blonde, lots of rum and her boyfriend count?
Not unless you were stranded in the wild.
