Q:
I read the post on Catfish slime and I feel this medicinal cure deserves its own post. The "white man's Footprint" [Plantago Major] was one of Americas first invasive species. It was observed by the Natives that it grew wherever the White Man settled. If you Google it you will remember it growing in your yard. Grind up the leaves for a potice on a sore, cut or sting. The chemicals there in Acubin [an Antimicrobial] and Allatonin [promotes cell growth] will give relief. Brewed in a tea it is a good cure for diarrhea and stomach distress. I hope this helps if your out in the woods and not near a drug store and it's easier to get than a Catfish.

I am impressed with all this survival knowledge, but I would not have much faith in the healing properties of any wild vegetation to rub it on a wound, or make tea out of it to cure diarrhea.
With my luck, I would find a look-alike plant that caused some incurable disease.
99 I totally agree. But this plant is very specific and unlike other weeds. If you look on your lawn you will most likely find some. Of course you should always know what your going to ingest. Otherwise you might meet Joe Black and he won't look like Brad Pitt.
