Whats a good turkey mite preventive measure when hunting? Don't have them just dont want them

I've been hunting turkeys for 40 years and have never had trouble or even heard of anyone having trouble with or from turkey mites.

Ticks and redbugs (chiggers)I've had aplenty. I use Permanone on my boots, socks and clothing to protect me from them. If Bird mites are a problem on turkeys in your area Permanone so used should control them as well as they are members of the same superfamily as ticks

I'm with Bee, don't believe that I'm familiar with 'turkey mites', but a quality insect repellant with Deet should do the trick.
Now, if we could just do something about yellow jackets and early season deer hanging on the skinning rack,,,
