A New Rifle, Strong Leaders and Tackle Bag
A new trigger for the Savage Model 111, excellent leaders from TyGer, and a well thought out tackle bag from Cabela's.

  Savage Model 111 Rifle
In a time when most rifle makers grow weak and faint at the thought of someone messing with their triggers, Savage has designed a new trigger for their Model 111 bolt action that they want you to adjust, and they even give you a tool to do it with. You can set it anywhere from 11/2 pounds to 6 pounds, it breaks crisply, and we could not get it to go off accidentally even when we slammed the rifle on a concrete floor. TyGer Leaders
Any fisherman who pitches lures to toothy critters should look at TyGer leaders the way a muskie eyes a floundering duckling. These microbraided, nylon-coated, stainless-steel leaders are tough, yet flexible enough to be tied directly to a hook or lure. Offered in weights from 2 pounds (in fly- and ice-fishing diameters) through 120-pound-test for ocean monsters, TyGers will handle not only the nastiest fish but also structure hazards (like zebra mussels) with ease. From $17 (for 30 feet of 2-pound-test). TyGer Leader, 208-267-6292; www.tygerleader.com.

Cabela's Advanced Anglers Pro Series Tackle Bags
The soft-sided Advanced Anglers Pro Series Tackle Bags are extremely well thought out and functional. All three models include specialized pockets, plus spacious main compartments that fit adjustable plastic tackle trays, and are made of heavyweight 600-denier waterproof nylon that is sewn with rot-resistant thread. A waterproof high-impact plastic bottom keeps the bottom from getting soaked. Prices are $47, $60, and $80 for the different models, a little more if purchased with the full complement of adjustable utility boxes. Cabela's, 800-237-4444; www.cabelas.com.
