Browning LED Flashlights,Mercury 60 EFI FourStroke Outboard
A flashlight on steroids and one of the lightest made outboards.

  Browning LED Flashlights
Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have long been known as low-temperature light sources that draw minuscule amounts of electricity. Now they're finding a home in flashlights noteworthy for extended battery life. Among outdoor companies, Browning is an industry leader with seven current models, ranging from a 10-LED Odyssey 4000 that will shine for 700 hours on three D-size batteries down to the tiny single-LED Phaser that gets 100 hours of intermittent use from a pair of midget lithium cells. The series also includes an LED-based headlamp (shown). Be aware that LED-based flashlights generally offer a soft, diffuse beam without the long-distance range of more conventional designs. They are thus ideal for changing lures after dark or for reading in a tent, but not for trekking through the woods at night. Prices range from $13 to $59.95. Browning, 800-333-3288; www.browning.com.

Mercury 60 EFI FourStroke Outboard
Weighing in at just 248 pounds, this is the lightest four-stroke electronic-fuel-injected outboard in its horsepower class and only 20 pounds heavier than its carbureted two-stroke counterpart. But it gets almost twice as many miles per gallon, has excellent acceleration, comes with a three-year warranty, and does not burn expensive outboard oil. The price is around $6,000 without controls.
