Best Of The Best Winner
The .375 Ruger $50 for a box of 20 800-338-3220 hornady.com We've had the .375 H&H around since 1912. It is not only powerful but also so versatile that its only rival is the .30/06. The .375 H&H, however, requires a long receiver, and any rifle that is built for it must necessarily be long and heavy. Ruger and Hornady, whose insolence knows no limits, decided to improve on the original cartridge by ¿¿creating one that would work through a .30/06-length receiver, yet retain the original ballistics: 300-grain solid- and soft-point loads at 2550 fps, and a 270-grain spitzer at 2700 fps. The rifle built for it, the Hawkeye, is much lighter and shorter than any .375 H&H could ever be. Will the new .375 replace the old one? Hell, no. Is it just as powerful and versatile? Hell, yes.
