Bushnell Elite 6500 riflescope
How many times have you hunted in the rain only to have your scope get smeared with water and snow at just at the wrong moment? It's happened to all of us. Now Bushnell has taken care of this problem in its Elite 6500 series of riflescopes with Rainguard, a water-repellent coating that beads up moisture and allows for a bright, clear picture no matter how bad the weather. The 6500 comes in 2.5-16x42 and 4.5-30x50 models, with top-of-the-line optics, 1/4 m.o.a. adjustments, ultra-fine -¿Multi-X' reticles, and bombproof construction. Push-pull turrets with resettable zero makes sighting in a breeze. With an Elite scope, nasty weather just got better. Prices start around $700.

Riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, rangefinders: when you're shopping for optics, there is so much variety as to boggle the mind. Prices range from reasonable to ridiculous, but when it comes down to it, you get what you pay for, with some exceptions. Here are 10 items that blew me away at the show.
