I chose the Model 40 (#'s of thrust) in a 36" shaft with the digital maximiser chip. Been getting over 5 hours per charge fishing lakes with the chip ~ all in a 9'6" pontoon. This is only one variant offered by Minn Kota. Price...over $300.

The only part of this motor that I don't like is putting it into the water and taking it out. Sometimes it is stubborn flipping it. Otherwise, the motor is great.
