Federal Heavyweights transform the 20-gauge into a true contender in the turkey woods. They achieve near-12-gauge performance by combining the proprietary FliteControl wad and Heavyweight tungsten-iron pellets. Unlike wads that release the shot charge as it exits the muzzle, the FliteControl holds pellets together inside the shotcup for several feet, resulting in tight patterns even from open chokes. Heavyweight pellets are denser than lead (15 grams per cubic centimeter vs. 12 g/cc for lead), contributing to tight patterns and devastating downrange energy: Even when launched at a mild 1100 fps, these pellets outperform larger lead pellets. The result is a dream load: light-kicking, tight-shooting, with a high pellet count and excellent retained energy. --Phil Bourjaily

I'll be trying these in my Daughter's youth 20ga. this fall, sounds great.
these look great but are the steel
Ibird these may hurt her a bit, think of it this way; when you try to squirk too much through a garden hose it recoils backwards the more you turn the hose up. 20 ga sometimes recoil harder because of this and that the guns are almost always lighter , personifying this.
Its good to see that someone is giving the 20 ga some honor. It sounds like a good all around load that i will try the next time i get a chance to go turkey hunting
I use the old Ithica 20 gauge single I've had since a kid for my turkey hunting. It shoots a tighter pattern than most 12's. But 3" turkey loads really do make that little sucker kick like a mule. Luckily, Turkey hunting doesn't take a whole lot of shots.
Now if they could do the same thing for the 12 ga. I could put away the old 10 ga.
I used Fereral premium #4 shot hunting Merriman Turkey this past fall in Stevens County, Wa. I used the 20ga. and the H&R Pardner, I installed a Breakos, nailed 1 bearded hen, and 1 23lb. Tom. Flawless, three in the head 4 in the neck, down they both went.
I LOOK FORWARD TO GIVING THESE SHELLS A TRY.
I wonder how these will be in my New England single shot 20 ga.
for the best shells. Step 1, Go to Walmart. Step 2, tell the worker what gauge shells you need. Step 3, buy the shells. Step 4/5 say thank you and then go shoot. When you buy shells at walmart they just throw what they have under the counter on the desk. They dont bother asking if you want the special gold plated, silver tip, pink/purple camo looking amo. Just take what they give and go be safe and have fun.
These shells shoot amazing out of a Rem 870 or Charles Daly pump with the right combo. Shoot them with a Remington SF Hevi-shot choke, and you will have one heck of a combo. I have turned my 20 ga in to a 50 yd turkey killer, i'm putting 170 hits in a 10" circle at 40 yds, and over 100 hits in a 10" circle at 50 yds.
These shells are superb. They can take down the target from short or long range. Best shell I've ever shot.
