Go Stihl!
Nothing beats a Stihl. I own the 390. It beats my Husqvarna hands down.
I've used a ton of chainsaws, and I agree with buckhunter - nothing beats a Stihl. They are expensive, but as with most anything, you get what you pay for. My current saw is the Stihl MS310 - it will cut anything you put it on... Great article!
The Stihl saws I own are outstanding, but also own a few Husqvarna saws they work as well.
Stihls are outstanding chainsaws they hold up and perform well.
Husqvarnas aren't bad either.
I too have a 310 that I live very much. I also have a geriatric Homelite 150 that is long past retirement and plan to replace it with another Stihl. Making up my mind between the 270, 280, or another 310. I'm not too excited over the new chain adjuster on this saw, ok with the old standard system, but that's just me. I too like Stihl very much.
Bottom line folks... A Stihl is where it at, fire up a 361pro and tell everyone else to STAND BACK. BUT, I do own an Echo top saw, which gets all the small to medium stuff; which is mostly what i run into. The echo is very is light and quick to manuver so i start with it. My central heat and hot water use only wood heat in the cool/cold months, so I run a saw ALOT, for a non-pro. The Stihl makes quick work of everything else.
Stihls are great and so are Husqvarnas they both work great for me and my family appriciates the heat that both supply I however prefer my Husq.
