THE LOWDOWN Slim and ­lightweight (5.1 ounces), the Cobra CXR900 has the smallest display. It runs on rechargeable, proprietary lithium batteries and has a maximum range of 30 miles. The new Rewind-Say-Again function plays back calls and also serves as a voice ­recorder.
Despite the smaller screen, most testers found it easy to read. Rosenberg did not like the “slightly recessed” talk button and wished that it also took AA batteries. Helms reported that his battery charger died, but it was replaced after a quick call to Cobra’s customer service.
