Knoxx Spec Ops 12-Gauge hunting shotgun stock in camo
Blackhawk has expanded its line of Knoxx Spec Ops shotgun stocks to include a 12-gauge hunting camo version as well as new 20-gauge offerings in tac black. All adjust for length instantly with the push of a button. Under recoil, the two-piece stock compresses a heavy spring, then bounces back, like a pogo stick, reducing kick noticeably, if not, perhaps, the full 80 percent the manufacturer claims. I put one on a 20-gauge 870 Express Jr. this spring, set the length of pull to a very short 123⁄4 inches, and went turkey hunting.
Between the pistol grip and the short LOP, the stock was one of the handiest I’ve used. It’s ugly, but I loved it and am leaving it on the gun for good. The Spec Ops stock should work well with slug guns, too. Available for Mossberg, Remington 870, and Winchester pumps ($135, black; $160, camo; blackhawk.com).

The Blackhawk stocks are a bit pricey but Blackhawk does put out quality stuff. I found a similar stock for my Mossberg 500 from TAPCO for only $69.95.
Like it or not, I have found the synthetic pistol grip stocks to be much more comfortable for shooting than the traditional wooden stocks; especially from tree stands. Wooden stocks are beautiful however I seem to prefer function over form.
might put one on my next slug gun. i got my 500 just right so I ain't touching it. might be good on a home defense gun also.
I wish Blawkhawk would make a stock for my .300 Weatherby!
When I take it to the range to double check my sights prior to opening day deer season, it kicks like a mule in heat.
When I shoot it in the field at deer ... I hardly notice it.
I have one of these and it is fantastic. When I took my bird this spring, it was the first time I didn't have that tell-tale bruise from the 3.5 inch load.
I might look into one of these when i purchase my turkey gun. Thanks for hte review.
FYI, Blackhawk does make a version for the rifle. I found the Axiom and Rifle Compstock when I visited their website. Good videos too, showing rifles in use.
This is a very nice stock. Not only is the retractable feature very useful, but add the fact that it reduces recoil. This is an amazing product. The only thing keeping everyone from with an eligible gun from getting one is the high price. And regardless of what Mr. Bourjaily says about how ugly it is, I like the camo look on the 870 express. You just gotta match it with the forehand grip.
