Outdoor Skills - Hunting Q&A

I'm a game biologist, and I've noticed that unlike deer, antelope will not stay rooted to a spot when you shine a bright light at them at night. Any idea why?

This is a guess, and only a guess: Unlike deer, which rely heavily on their senses of smell and hearing, antelope seem to depend almost entirely on their eyesight, and if anything interferes with it-such as a spotlight-they are going to get away from it as fast as they can.
