This remake of the Stevens Favorite .22 Rimfire single-shot falls into the nostalgia category, so we test-fired it for function only. Like its ancestor, which appeared over a century ago, the new Favorite is a lever-operated, falling-block single-shot. The stocks are honest American walnut and the metal is blued. The half-octagon/half-round barrel adds a nice touch. Operation was smooth and reliable, but the outdoor life testers considered the force required to cock the hammer somewhat heavy for young (or even old) fingers.
