The late G. Sitton was the most gifted gun writer of the generation that is now fading from sight. During the 1980s he moved to Arizona and whored after false gods by writing advertising copy. We kept in touch, however, and once in a while he would send me a fan letter. This one is reproduced exactly as he wrote it, and is in response to an article I did in the 1989 Gun Digest entitled, “I Sold All My Lovely Wood.”

It's pretty hard to avoid the Super Bowl, even though I'm not a wild-eyed sports fan. So I'll be glued to the television set this Sunday like millions of others. But I'll also have a fishing something in hand.
The mute button on our remote gets a pretty good workout through all the commentary that surrounds the actual game. While that's going on I'll be practicing a couple of fishing knots. I've already put a spool of mono, some paperclips, and a pair of clippers on the living room table.

While I know plenty of you have most likely heard the news, I felt I had to make sure that the Fly Talk nation was aware of what has transpired. The Fly Fishing Film Tour's original members, better known as AEG resigned on New Years eve effectively shutting down the tour for this year. Nobody really knows for sure what happened, but a lot of people were bummed that the film tour (a Warren Miller-esque tour for fly fishing movies) wasn't going to make the rounds.
