Wow, for a fishing commercial thats pretty lame. Glad they didn't start talking about how big their Johnson's are or how many hours of service they got on their Johnson.
MLH, Back in the day of those old adds, all the big three, Evinrude,Johnson, and Mercury did for outboards were two stroke. The best attempt at a four stroke was the Homelite 55hp.
My first outboard was a Johnson so this brings back some good memories. I'm usually not shy about a "big Johnson" joke but you guys covered the territory pretty well so I'll leave that one alone (at least til I get home to my wife).

My Johnson went out on me Sunday night. It took a 250 hp Evinrude to haul me and my Johnson back to the dock.
I always look forward to sharing my Johnson with friends and family. We always have a lot of fun.
Cermele started it; let the childish humor begin:
My Johnson is very easy to start; two pulls from my wife and its ready to go.
What kind of hole shot do you get with your Johnson?
My Johnson becomes harder to start thoughout the day during periods of high use; any suggestions?
JC,
Pulling up 1970's nostalgia when Webster's Dictionary of Slang hadn't even been published yet? Brilliant!
My Big Johnson is a 3 1/2 horsepower from 1954.
The other is a 3 hp from 1959 with a weedless lower unit.
Both still run.
My 6.6 HP Johnson from 1960 somethin wasn't runnin too good this year.
Which Johnson ? I only share mine with a Redhead named T...a. ;)
And they were called that long before 1970...
Shame on ya jay! ;)
I guess that is why we just called them *JOHNRUDES*.
Are those two or four strokes?
phaha me and my "johnson"

i've heard that johnsons have caused a lot of divorces. mine was the only reason my ex-wife kept me around.
Old Johnsons can still rise to the occasion!
Shame how we've turned so many names into sexual slang and ridicule.
Whatever.
