Signs Installed on High-Speed Texas Highway After Animal Collisions
By Chad Love
A stretch of Texas turnpike that boasts the highest speed limit in the nation is being renamed the "Newton's Three Laws of Motion Memorial Highway" following a spate of high-speed car/animal collisions. OK, that's a lie. They're actually just putting up a bunch of wildlife crossing signs.
From this story on cbslocal.com:
A Texas toll road with the nation’s highest speed limit will get signs warning drivers about wildlife after at least three incidents of vehicles colliding with animals in the first few days of the new 85 mph zone. The private company that runs the 41-mile portion of Texas Highway 130 said Tuesday temporary electronic message boards were being used until permanent signs can be installed.
This just makes no sense at all to me. Why put up deer crossing signs on the busiest stretch of the highway? Maybe the folks in Texas need to talk to this woman.
