Video: Trophy Hunting for Christmas Trees

By Ben Romans

A video recently posted on Guns.com shows there’s more than one way to take down a Christmas tree. If you try this one at home, please remember one of the cornerstones of firearm safety: Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Which caliber do you prefer for Christmas tree hunting?

Last year I cut down a 6" balsam with 3 shots using a 6.5x55 with 140 grain sierra game kings at 30 yds.
This year I'm using a .308 with 150 grain game kings.
Got my eye on an 8" balsam that I've been patterning.
Bet it won't take me 10 shots to do it either.
Beats lugging the Stihl out there!
