Tie Talk: The One-Terabyte Fly
By Tim Romano
This one was just too cool not to show. Last week I was hanging out with some Trout Unlimited chapter heads from around the state. One of which just happened to be a bigwig at one of our local tech companies here in the Boulder area. He popped this fly in my hand and asked,"ever seen the one-terabyte fly?"
"One terabyte," I said?
"Yes," he replied. "As in the read/write head of a one-terabyte hard drive."
After he swore me to secrecy (an agreement I've clearly dishonored) and made me promise not to use his name, I was allowed to keep and photograph the bug.
Just for a size reference I'd say this is tied on about a size 18 hook.
Pretty cool huh? Think it'll catch?

Now We are ready for the ciber-flyfishing era...
But...where are the soul?
Make sure to install your anti-virus software before you go PHISHING!
first there's robotic fish to guide the other fish around now there's a electronic fly to guide them fish into my net.
no muskiemaster you got it all wrong, this is the electronic fly to catch the electronic robotic fish ( just in case it goes haywire).
only someone from boulder would do something like that. would be cool for a keepsake but for fishing, it would be a bit silly.
Technology is every where now
About the only thing I'd catch with that thing is one of Professor Porfiri's robot swimmers! See "Field Notes," June 2, 2010.
I don't know what to say about it other than you HAVE TO TRY IT, and we want pictures of the first catch!!!!
If you don't I will! Just send it over!!!
Wish i could find the tying recipe for this, i have all these computer parts laying around i'll never use
