Romano: More New Gear From the International Fly Tackle Dealer Show

By Tim Romano

A couple of weeks ago we visited the International Fly Tackle Dealer Trade show in Denver and talked to some of the manufactures about their new products for late 2010/2011. We already showed you a handful of new products in a previous post. This week Korkers Boots a new material for the bottom of their shoes, Dr. Slick brings you some new tying tools, Hatch Outdoors a new pair of pliers, and Merco has a sweet new bobbin. Enjoy. -- TR

Who's going to carry those first 400 sets of Korkers soles?

Curious sole. Will it be a sole you can apply to other boots? Does it come as an add on to older Korkers. This looks like a promising product. Sort of a cross between heavy duty sandpaper for grip, felt for surefooted use. since I'm not so sure of the rubber soles this might be a happy cross over.

fflutterffly, Korkers make a wading boot with switchable soles, so it's not something that is a replacement sole for other boots, but an option for their brand boots with the replaceable sole. I contacted the company using their website online form, so I'll post up whatever details I can when I get them.

TR ~ Thank you. The adj. tension bobbin by Merco will satisfy at least a two tool requirement. Will pursue same.

tu has noted this R&D attempt by Korkers. Maybe this will spawn other boot manufactures to do the same.

Simms and Orvis? Doubt it, but tu is working on them.
