Winner, winner, chicken dinner. We had a great response to the fly-box giveaway, and it sounds like everyone shares the water with some cool people (and dogs). I wrote the name of everyone who completed a post (sorry BenC and ThatKid—I couldn’t enter your names more than once even though you made multiple posts J) and threw the names in a ball cap. After a quick shuffle, I drew a name. Congratulations...

If you need any help selecting some patterns, let me know. I just returned from a camping and fishing trip on the Salmon River in central Idaho and can make some cool recommendations. My buddy and I had the chance to test some new patterns while floating through a the river’s whitewater chutes, and at the end of the day we were pleased with the results. We caught more trout than we could count, grilled up some mean breakfasts and greasy dinners, and passed through some great water. Look for photos later this week.

I’ll try to plan some more giveaways in the coming weeks. Maybe something with a hunting angle? The season will be upon us before you know it. Stay tuned. —Ben

Congrats on the win. He's gone this whole week, so don't be suprised if he doesn't get back to you by friday or saturday. I fished about six hours last weekend with a couple of hits but I got nothing in. I picked up some new patterns from the fly shop but never got to try them out. So, what would you suggest to Ty.
