Youth Season Success Stories

By Ben Romans

width=400

I know I made the recommendation last week for everyone to get out and enjoy the youth seasons, so I thought I’d follow up with a few tales of other hunters that made it out and filled their tag.

This article tells the story of three hunters in New Mexico that made the most of their special opportunity. Antonio Gomez was on the prowl for a deer he saw while scouting a few times before. Fortunately, the deer was close to where he saw him before and Antonio made an 80-yard shot on the biggest buck ever harvested in his family (above in photo). Not to be outdone, Robert Rodriguez and T.J. Ortiz, also of New Mexico, shot deer (Robert shot a rare coues deer) during the same youth weekend. Congratulations to you all. —Ben
