One thing that concerns me, is this a gas operation system as the M16 or did they incorporate Gas Piston Conversion?
Using the gas piston conversion, you can shoot 20 rounds full auto, remove the bolt and it will be cold as ice NICE!As for gas operation, it will be hot enough to fry eggs and carbon build up will be a problem.
One more thing, the AR Platform is what I call the "Poor Mans Competition Rifle. The beauty behind this unlike my M1A and M1 Garand, it's all user workable, no Gunsmiths or Armorers required.
Clay,
direct gas is considered more inherently accurate, assuming both are equally well-made. Lower recoiling mass, no gas piston/cylinder transmitting vibrations to the barrel, etc.
I have heard pros and cons concerning both gas and piston seems to be a lot of opinions on this. Seems both systems have a good points especially if the piston system was designed to be part of the rifle to begin with but several friends have been less than thrilled with the conversion kits.

Aftermarket parts always needed to be tweaked, but as for my M1 Garand and M1A piston/rod driven, sure hammers that 10 ring at 600 yards!

The ONLY AR I would want.
