Squirrel Attacks Teacher In Michigan
By Dave Hurteau
Believe it or not, there was once a Field & Stream editor who had a morbid fear of squirrels. I used to ask to her: “What the hell is a squirrel going to do to you?”
From http://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2009/04/oh_nuts_visiting_t... " target="_blank">The Ann Arbor Press:
[A] 52-year-old Detroit Public School teacher was with a group of students touring the [University of Michigan] campus . . . when she . . . noticed [a] mother squirrel appeared to have left behind one of her babies . . . . When . . . the woman tried to alert the mother squirrel about the left behind baby . . ., the mother squirrel . . . attacked and either scratched or bit the teacher on her leg.

I mean I sympathize for the lady for being bit and scratched... but I also find this kind of funny. Funny in the since that an animal so small, you would never think a squirrel would do any damage. But this is just another classic example of animal attacks when people get in the way of mother and child. Well I hope the teacher is OK... Don't think any students would want to go to University of Michigan when they have attacking squirells and all.
Some squirrels are so tame they're practically domesticated. I recall a small Chicago park where I stood with a camera taking a photo of my wife and one of her school chums. A squirrel scampered down a tree, hopped next to me, jumped on my leg, and started to climb. I guess it figured the camera for food. I sort of leaned over and glared at it, and the critter did a double take and beat it.
Looks like we have to issue guns to teachers now...
I wonder what the squirrel said to the squirrel that bit the Teacher??
Did it taste like nuts?
Substitute nuts with chicken if your clueless!
good one clay, was the teacher a guy or girl?
That's what college campuses are for, education.
Hope the lesson took.
ha ha. i wonder if she ate the squierell after it attacked her, i would
HA,HA, We have some bad a** squirrels here in Michian.
Hope she/he is ok.
Why do squirrels swim on their backs?
To keep their nuts dry of course!
We had them on our college campus too. We would feed them on our dorm windowsill... one finally came in and took a dump on my roomates math book... he had the same opinion of that math class as I did!
