Illinois Buck Gets Combined—And Survives
From the News-Democrat:
Wayne Harre, of rural Nashville, said his father, Arnold, was shelling corn in the evening when he came upon a monster buck straddling three rows of corn. . . .
The buck didn't budge when Arnold Harre approached with his combine. Because it was dark, Harre didn't see the buck in time to stop. It became caught on the corn header.
Harre . . . eventually reversed the corn header and dislodged the buck, which sprinted into a nearby timber. . . .
"That's the dangest thing I've ever heard," he said. "There's so much power behind one of those corn heads, I can't believe it didn't break one of it's legs."

I would have loved to see a picture!
crazy. i would say that deer would be tough eating.
He might be a little more tender now.
so that's how they make white deer!
Wow that's a story for the grandkids!
I'm glad it turned out well for all 3 involved
(The deer, the combine and the farmer)
The damage the bone and tissue could've done is unknown.
The mess and smell/clean up would be intense.
That's pretty wild that the deer actually was stupid enough to just stand ther.....and survive!
Three rows long? what is that? 8 feet?
This is my corn and you won't cut it-OOWWW!! Okay! Okay! Your Corn just let me go!!
Symbolic of how hard it is to kill a monster buck.................oh and it negates what field and stream always says about the biggest bucks are the wariest!!!
Nate
Wow. youd think that deer would have moved.
fawns get rolled up in hey bails all the time buck probably thought he was safe...
