Animal Rights Activist Tries to Fake a Wolf Hunt

By Online Editors

From the LA Times Outposts blog:
An animal rights advocate who tried to pass off a state-culled wolf carcass as one she shot herself has gotten off with a warning from Idaho Fish and Game, but no other penalty.

Lynne Stone, director of the wildlife advocacy group Boulder-White Clouds Council, had purchased a 2009 wolf hunting tag. She had no plans to go hunt one of the predators, but intended to find a wolf killed by other means and use the tag in an effort to count it toward the statewide hunting quota ...

Eventhough they aren't smart, they sure are creative. She doesn't agree with it, so she has to try and ruin the experience for those who do. The wackjobs never cease to make themselves look dumb.

Got off with a warning? They should have prosecuted her for filing a false report or whatever the applicable law happens to be.

This individual should be fined and prosecuted the same as any legitimate hunter would be. By not prosecuting, your only encouraging more inappropriate behaviour from that group. Idaho fish and game shouldn't play favorites!

I guess the reason Idaho Fish and Game didn't pursue the "false report," is it would have provided a long drawn out process, giving her cause the attention she wants.

But after reading the provided link, one of the posters " XXXGoodWolfXXX " stated,""Hero with a huge heart"....Hmmm wierd description of a criminal....This is the fourth time Stone has violated Fish and game laws...she has now admitted to 1-Harassing game animals 2-Unsafely discharging a firearm into the air 3-Interfering with legal hunts 4-illegal tagging of a big game animal.....
"Shame on hunters"...That is somewhat hilarious...Lynne Stone has more fish and game infractions that all licensed wolf hunters combined....."

Time is money, why do they tolerate these law-breaking people? I say lock her up and let her stew in her own juices!

Whatever was her plan? How would screwing with the State Wildlife people possibly help her cause? She should have been prosecuted for wasting their time.

Animal rights folks have bought up elk tags and used similar tactics in the past to deny hunters and game managers the opportunity to attain harvest goals. Not a new tactic.

i dont see how this is any different than if i were to shoot an animal while not having a license or needed tag and then trying to pass it off as my friend who has the necessary papers shot it. i see it as the same as party hunting. just reversed.

does she not realize that the money she paid for the license goes to further benefit those of us who do the activities that she probably say she hates? idiots

"an effort to count it toward the statewide hunting quota ..."

wow, pretty dumb, although I suspect using the carcass for some publicity stunt was the secret motivation

I have heard of these peta people oiling canada goose eggs, on the nest, so that hunters won't kill them.
This type of activity deserves the same serious fines, etc. that poachers get.

I guess this is just part of the "how low can they go?" campaign the animal rights kooks are waging--as the golfers say, par for the course.

She is one of the leaders of the Pro-wolf people in our state. She has been on several of the same show's and in many articles with me...what these people will do no longer shocks me, as they think they are so right in their cause that laws no longer apply...ends justify the means...

Some people are just a special kind of stupid.

She should've recieved jail time and fines. Her past actions and her current action should've shown that she is willing to escalate her whims to get attention and is probably more emboldened by constantly getting away with it.

Whats wrong with you people? Read the latest article in the National Geographic 3-2010. Wolves were here long before we were. We have upset the balance of the earth.
Predators(other than humans are needed). We need to all stop eating beef. Ranchers need to find other means of
income. It is possible, just ask the textile workers and tobacco farmers in my state of NC. Raising of awareness
is humanities goal. Just like over planting of an invasive species- kudzu- cattle farming also takes over where nature never intended.

Well boys this is from a hard core hunter who know the gal you are referring to and all of your second guessing isn't right at all. I will tell you I am a hard core hunter and outdoorsman, if that make me any more credible before I say that she found the wolf killed and rotting. It was shot by federal government hunters and left to rot. She and friends picked it up and were told by Idaho Fish and Game she could have it, but when she brought it in to them they took it away because it violated another statute. She picked it up fair and square. By the way boys, why don't you guys calm down a little and stop being so paranoid about wolves. Man, you would think they were the boogie man. Start getting your facts straight because you are all sharing misinformation until you are all misinformed. Wolves are the end of the world or the end of wildlife, but poor habitat, chronic wasting disease, invasive plants and animals are some bad issues. Wolves were native of this country, not invasive and we can live with them. Sorry to rain on your parade, one hunter to another.
