Is it a coincidence that Texas is seen as having very liberal deer harvests and almost no "population" problems while still harvesting nice bucks. I think the Midwest states need to reduce their costs a tad and encourage some of us Southerners to come thin the herd for them. lol.

It's tough here in Wisconsin to have a growing deer population when the wolf numbers just keep going up and up. Saw more wolves in northern wisconsin this past season than the last 5 years combined.

In pennsylvanaia the deer population is really not that low but most hunters choose not to put the effort into hunting the deer. For instance that why the sport of hunting can de difficult at times becise most hunters prefer rifle hunting but in pa you would not imagine the deer seen while bowhunting.

A fence? Seriously? We have rifles, and we will employ them for free. Come on.

Cervids in a pen are prime candidates for CWD. I can't explain it but the wild deer come a rub noses with the deer in the pen. The biologists here in WV say that is one of the ways it is spread. One solution- Get the deer aut of the pens and back in the woods where they belong.

I don't know where that one guy is bowhunting at in pa. If you actually watch the video the game commission is feeding you a line of bull. I'd first of all like to see the results of their study that said the coyotes aren't killing the deer cause i've seen numerous studies in the last couple years, one in particular in pa, on how the coyotes are a problem. Second off I don't see where these efforts are to improve our ecosystem, alls that I see are more and more doe licenses every year that are going right back to the game commission.

from Pa deer hunter wrote 2 years 4 weeks ago

Here in Pa. the problem is too many deer hunters with too little time to hunt. Most are gun only deer hunters who only hunt three or four days. These hunters are in a hurry to fill their tags. Add to this the liberal amount of doe tags the PGC sells and the fact that you can buy multiple tags and in most areas shoot doe's all of gun season and you have the answer to where have all the deer gone? We have a six week archery season and a two week gun season. I'd be willing to bet the farm (if I had one) that many more deer are taken on the first day of gun season than all six weeks of archery season. Like BowtechWVU I see more in bow season.
