Hurteau: Win A Mathews Z7 Bow, Round 3
By Dave Hurteau
Sorry folks. This was supposed to go up on Friday, but I ran into a slight holdup. Anyway, here’s buck #3. (Click here if you missed buck #1, and here for buck #2.) As you can see, we’re taking the training wheels off. No more clean 8s or 10s. Instead, this week’s buck has just enough junk to make things interesting. (Next week’s will have just enough to make things brutally difficult).
Let’s review. You are playing for a Mathews Z7, the company’s brand new, flagship compound bow for 2010. It’s a prize worth about $900.

To win it, you need to guess the gross B&C scores of the bucks I post here each week. (It’s up to you to keep track of your scores.) Next Friday, I’ll ask you for your grand total. If you’re closest, you’ll be hunting with a very slick new bow next fall.
In the meantime, you are welcome to post your best guesses for each buck. Or you can keep your best guesses to yourself and try to sabotage your competition with outlandish scores and purposely misleading information.
Minnesota hunter Billy Jerowski took this beast last October 20th in Buffalo County, Wisconsin. The buck has some funky G2s, so we’ll give you a look from the back, too.
Okay, go for it.

185 3/8. That is a great buck with alot of extra. Congratulations Mr. Jerowski. That buck reminds me of my grand-father's buck thats a 174 inch clean ten-point wth 3 inches of deductions. This buck brings back memories.

Finally got a nice day today and set up the Chronograph. My 65 lb Z-7 with 370 grain Maxima hunter hunting arrows shot 294 fps. This is 32 fps better than my old 62 lb Switchback XT. Keep in mind hunting arrows weigh more than the arrows used for testing new bows. BTW I love the bow. It is better than anything I have ever shot in many different ways.
