Cabela's To Offer Camo Mandolins?
By Dave Hurteau
Hey did you know Cabela’s is getting into music instrument business?

From the Mandolin Café:
Thomas L. "Tommy" Millner, Chief Executive Officer of Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear has announced the acquisition of New Millennium Acoustic Design Carbon Fiber Mandolins of Waterville, Vermont.
The announcement was made on March 31, 5:00 p.m. CDT at the company's headquarters in Sidney.
"Carbon fiber products are an important part of the future of the outdoor entertainment product line Cabela's is known for," said Millner.
"In our continuing position as the world leader in the outdoor sports market, the Board of Directors felt that this superb small niche music company in the heart of the beautiful Vermont mountains was a natural fit with Cabela's corporate philosophy of providing exceptional products to our customer base, and many of those customers are musicians as well as passionate outdoorsmen.
No? Well, neither did Cabela’s. The whole thing, it appears, is an April Fools joke.

Jokes are supposed ot be funny.
Spellcheck!
Some things you just hope are jokes. But maybe carbon fiber camo banjos ....
Does it call ducks? Deer? Squirrels? Varmints? Frogs?
What is it good for?
April Fools!?
this is a good joke towards camoflage mandolins
I was just starting to researching where i could buy one. dang it!

It's like, Camo Deliverence!
Make it a carbon fiber banjo and im in :D:D:D
I love the mandolin, can't play one worth a dang but that ain't for lack of trying.
Camo Mandolins would indeed be a joke, unless one is trying to get the turkeys to "trot" by serenading them from yer hunting blind. Sure would be a change from the usual squalkers and yelpers.
But I don't know if I'd go for a musical instrument guaranteed to get lost in the woods if you put it down for a minute. Then there is the notion that wood makes the best acoustic instrument bodies, spruce in particular for violins and such. Traditional instruments should be made of traditional materials, otherwise make it out of anything and put magnetic pickups on it like a Stratocaster, but ...you gonna make the Amp and the portable generator to run it camo too? An only sorta funny joke for Ape fool.
I was wondering where they were going to stock them, maybe with the banjos and canoes..?
That's a pretty good april fools joke--just believable enough to make you think it might be real. Yesterday, on the trucker's channel on sattelite radio, they got the DJs from one of the spanish music channels to do a show in spanish--the phone lines lit up with complaints! Now that's funny--I don't care who you are!!!
I would buy one! I wish they made an acoustic guitar in camo.....the old lady would go nuts if I bought another one!
