I know what you’re thinking: We’ve seen plenty of hook removal videos. Not this one you haven’t. It is, in my opinion, the best and worst one I’ve ever watched. It’s the best because I give the guy credit for showing all three methods–push through and cut, reverse plier pull, and line pull. And there’s honesty in this video. The line pull, which we’re taught is the easiest most pain-free way to get a hook out, isn’t foolproof as you’ll see. I say it’s the worst not because of the removals, but the insertions. They’re big hooks, and the bottom line is that if you’re fishing and get hooked, it usually happens really fast. These hooks go in S-L-O-W. Nauseatingly slow. Enjoy and have a great weekend.
