The Best Rising Brown Trout Footage I've Ever Seen

By Joe Cermele

This is, by far, the most exceptional footage of a big brown trout rising I've ever seen. All I can tell you is the amount of luck you have to have to be in the right place at the right time to shoot something like this is unreal. I don't even know what else to say about it other than COME ON SPRING! Have a great weekend.

I can not play the shockwave flash, but would bet that was in a river, and not a lake. And that is what gets a majority of fly anglers juices flowing....dry fly fishing, and seeing big heads. And it is generally a big dry that works on big browns, but in rare circumstances it can be a small bug.

I actually got a little bit weepy watching that. 59 more days 'til the opener in my area. That's way too many.

Shame they had to go to New Zealand. I'd like to see something like that in Western PA.

Wonderful video! If I was able to fishing rising trout daily....I would have to be in Heaven! I have heard New Zeeland has rivers like that, all over the place...........One bit of advice that I have for Joe Demalderis, Don't start false casting more....False cast LESS, because majority of the time you can't catch trout in the air!

That's just cool. That fish is huge. I'd like to know if the guy landed it or it got away and that's why the video cut out?
