Getting Punked On The Hardwater

By Joe Cermele

This is one of those pranks that if you're in on the joke, it's hysterical. If you're having a decent day ice fishing and this gets pulled on you, you'd probably laugh it off. But if I were on the receiving end of this after a long, cold day of catching nothing and thought finally the trip was about to pay out big time, I might be upset. Well executed Tom-Foolery, though. Bravo. Anyone ever pull this stunt on the ice?

Similar is the bucket trick while trolling off-shore. Hook a 5 gallon bucket up to the 30 and throw it over. Yell like crazy and let the mark think he has a tuna hooked up.

We did that to the captain once during a very slow day. He was so displeased he said "reel 'em up, we're going home."

How quiet was the ride home after you duped Capt.Sensitive?

I was hoping it would be a live half-pound bluegill instead of a brat.
